  what were some of yours?

  the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!

  these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

  Another story....we had a sister who had her property vandalized by a man that is a son of another baptized witness. The sister who had her property vandalized called the police and took the son to court to sue for damages. Now, that son actually faced jail time because of the amount of damages he caused.

  When the elders found out, they told the sister to not sue the son because it would bring reproach on Jehovah's name. That sister said fine, but only of you pay and fix the damage. You know the brothers were not going to do that! So, she did sue and won. 6 months later, that sister was DF'd! She is still out to this day. Which, I guess you could say is a happy ending for her!

  Oh, the best thing.....that son was welcomed back with opened arms and is now baptized. He is running microphones in the KH and is on his way to be a good borg.

  Doctor Who

  We had a sister once have a picnic where she left the invitation open to all from the congregation. One of the "friends" heard and was telling everyone and anyone she knew that we were having a congregation picnic. The Sunday before the picnic, 2 elders took the sister organizing the picnic into the back room. I was/is very close to that sister and she explained that the elders told her she could be reproved for brazen conduct if she didn't cancel the picnic asap. The reason? She is a sister and was organizing it without the brothers direction! She tried to explain that it wasn't a 'congregation' picnic, just an open invitation to come to the park, bring your own food type of thing. But nooooo. The brothers need to be in charge, she was a Jezabel (yes they called her that!)

  By the way....it was a great picnic! She was also publicly reproved 2 weeks later. There was also a local needs part on being 'submissive to the brothers even if it doesn't make sense at the time' talk.

  This thread is giving me PTSD! All these things. Be there 20 minutes before the meeting, Reserving the back rows, no chewing gum, Skirts below the knees, Brothers sitting in the aisle seat, Ad nauseam!

  No bubble gum! Yep! I remember a brother giving a local needs part about that as I sat chewing my gum like a cow only 3 rows from the front. His face was soooooo red it was hilarious!

  Where to begin????

  No sitting next to ANYONE of the opposite sex if you are not dating and or married. The only exception is if you are late and the attendant sits you next to them.

  No bow ties if you have a meeting part. If you wear one, you will be pulled into the back room after the meeting.

  No pink dress shirts. You might catch te geys if you do!

  If you are a male and cleaning the women's restroom, someone needs to stand at the door way to warn any sister you're in there (also true for women cleaning the men's room.)

  I could go on but this is making me sick, LOL!

  for those of you who've watched the witnesses documentary, let's suppose for a moment that the org was forced to make their database of abusers available to the courts.

  if this database is as detailed and meticulous as it is claimed, how in the world could the org (in its present form) survive that?

  assuming they don't go bankrupt after all of the new abuse claims, would they go underground, shut down the kingdom halls, stop the preaching?

  Looking for Carl and Julie Bruce

  to everyone:i am trying to locate anyone who might know carl bruce or his wife julie.

  carl was a bethelite as far back as the mid-1980s in brooklyn new york.

  it appears that he was married to julie during that time period, and he may still be a bethelite serving in wallkill.

  besides the media center they are going to build in n.y. it's been noted they are also building one and a studio in australia.

  there is no way donations can cover these massive projects.

  so the money will have to come from the sale of the remaining halls.

  There is a huge problem with meeting in people's homes, not zoned. I was told that was why they stopped having the Tuesday night (or whatever night) book study in private homes.

  I know at my old Hall, a couple of the houses that had the study in them complained that the Congregation should help with repairs. I believe there was a Meeting with the Elders at the Circuit level because it was fairly widespread. Then, 1 year latter the new and improved Bible Study with the School was started.
